Clemson offensive coordinator Tony Elliott is going to miss Friday’s College Football Playoff semifinal against Ohio State due to COVID-19. The school did not disclose whether he tested positive or not, but says he remains in protocols. Head coach Dabo Swinney is expected to announce who will handle the offensive play-calling duties during a press conference today. The second-ranked Tigers will battle the third-ranked Buckeyes in the Sugar Bowl Friday in New Orleans.

The College Football Playoff is setting makeup dates if the semifinals or championship game are postponed due to COVID-19. ESPN reports if the Rose Bowl is postponed it would be moved to January 11th. The Sugar Bowl would be moved to January 12th if necessary.
The title game would be made up on January 18th, one week after its current scheduled date of January 11th. There has been no indication that any of the games will need to be postponed, but the CFP now has contingency plans in place.
