Pennyrile Rural Electric receives Governor’s Safety and Health Award

Pennyrile Rural Electric has received the Governor’s Safety and Health Award for achieving over one million hours without a lost-time injury by the employees from April 2016 to September 2020.

According to a news release, the award highlights outstanding safety and health performance in Kentucky’s workplaces. A business may qualify for the award if its employees achieve a required number of hours worked without experiencing a lost-time injury or illness. The required number of hours is dependent upon the number of employees.

Governor Andy Beshear says, “This pandemic has highlighted the importance of healthy and safe work environments.  My top priority is the health and safety of all Kentuckians. I encourage you to continue to lead by example in providing a safe working environment for all team members. Congratulations on achieving a million hours worked with no injury.”
