Kentucky State Police have released additional information on the fatal vehicle versus pedestrian accident from Saturday night on the Pennyrile Parkway in Christian County.
KSP says 21-year old Navarro Mitchell, Jr. of Clarksville had been northbound near the 17-mile-marker when his vehicle went into the median for unknown reasons and became disabled.
Mitchell exited his car and crossed both northbound lanes to talk to a motorist who was parked on the shoulder.
When he turned and began to cross again to go back to his car, he was struck by a vehicle operated by 37-year old Nicholas Starr of Madisonville.
While unoccupied, Starr’s vehicle was struck by another automobile driven by 26-year old Haley Keenan of Evansville.
Mitchell was pronounced dead at the scene by Christian County Coroner Scott Daniel, while Starr and Keenan were not injured.
An autopsy was scheduled on Mitchell and the incident remains under investigation.
