Elkton will host its annual nighttime Christmas parade Saturday night.
The parade will leave Todd County Central High School on South Main Street at 5 p.m. and head north towards Public Square, exiting the Square on West Main Street and ending at the intersection of Streets Avenue where floats will disperse.
Mayor Arthur Green says this year’s parade will have a bicentennial theme as Elkton and Todd County celebrate their 200th birthday.
He says at least 30 entries have already signed up to participate.
Mayor Green says mask-wearing and social distancing will be encouraged and the traditional photos with Santa is canceled because of the pandemic.
The Public Square will be closed to normal traffic beginning about 4:30 Saturday and lasting until the parade is over.
