Updated: Girl flown to Nashville hospital after being struck by vehicle Wednesday night

Additional details have been released on the accident in the parking lot of Concord Baptist Church Wednesday night that sent a child to a Nashville hospital.

The report from the Christian County Sheriff’s Department says the five-year old Elkton girl had just been removed from a vehicle by her father when she ran toward the church and into the path of an SUV driven by John Ellis of Hopkinsville.

Ellis didn’t have time to avoid striking the girl and she was flown by Air Evac to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville for non-life-threatening injuries.
