Kentucky announces 2,803 new COVID cases Sunday

Another 2,803 coronavirus cases were reported Sunday in Kentucky, in addition to 11 more deaths.

The governor’s office also reported 1,709 Kentuckians are hospitalized with the virus, 407 are in an ICU, 218 are on a ventilator and the positivity rate is up to 9.24 percent.

A 60-year old woman from Hopkins County was among the fatalities announced Sunday and Kentucky’s pandemic death total is now up to 1,896.

All nine Pennyrile counties remain red on the state incidence rate map, as do 115 of the 120 counties in the commonwealth. Ballard is the only county west of Bowling Green in the orange.

Tennessee reported 3,052 new cases and 13 more deaths Sunday, bringing the Volunteer State’s death toll to 4,554. The positivity rate is 16 percent and 2,197 Tennesseans are currently hospitalized with the virus.
