Gov asking Kentuckians to celebrate Thanksgiving safely during pandemic

Governor Andy Beshear is imploring Kentuckians to not have large gatherings from multiple households at their Thanksgiving tables this year as he announced 3,408 new coronavirus cases Wednesday.

The positivity rate is now 8.88 percent, 1,734 Kentuckians are hospitalized, 409 are in the ICU and 216 are on a ventilator.

Governor Beshear also announced 26 more deaths, bringing that total to 1,835 since the pandemic began.

He says Kentuckians now know how to prevent the spread of the virus and it’s up to everyone to do their part to keep their loved ones healthy.

117 of Kentucky’s 120 counties are red on the incidence rate map, including everywhere Bowling Green and west.

Tennessee reported 2,118 new cases and 92 additional deaths. The Volunteer State’s positivity rate is 12.4 percent and 2,183 Tennesseans are hospitalized with the virus.
