Pioneers, Inc. isn’t letting a worldwide pandemic stop them from serving the people of the community this Thanksgiving, and their annual free Thanksgiving meal will still be available to those in need.
Jimmy Hightower with the Pioneers appeared on WHOP Tuesday morning and says they have done this for a very long time, serving hundreds each year, and this year they will do the same but with health guidelines in place.
He says it will be pick-up only for the food on Thanksgiving Day, from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m.—there will be no dining in this year at their location on North Main Street.
The food includes many Thanksgiving favorites, from turkey to rolls and more.
Hightower says they wanted to make sure those in need still got food to enjoy this holiday, and this year is more necessary than ever, due to the impacts caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. For more information on the Thanksgiving meal, call the Pioneers at 270-885-0825.
