Resolution still possible in Greenville Road murder case

Negotiations continue toward a possible resolution in the murder case against Anshanique Leavell, the woman accused of fatally shooting Amareya’ Freeman at a home on Greenville Road in June of last year.

Attorney Michael Thompson represents Leavell and said a trial date could be set Thursday morning, though he reasserted that talks continue between him and Commonwealth’s Attorney Rick Boling.

Judge John Atkins instead set another pre-trial hearing for January 6, but said they need to either have a resolution or be prepared to set a trial date.

Leavell remains in the Christian County Jail on charges of murder, receiving stolen property and complicity to tampering with physical evidence.
