The NBA’s Board of Governors is unanimously approving an amended Collective Bargaining Agreement. ESPN reports the approved deal clears the way for several financial and competitive rule changes for the upcoming season. The reduced 72-game schedule will begin December 22nd. The salary cap will be set at just over 109-million-dollars. Free agency is set to begin November 20th, two days after the NBA Draft.

The Boston Celtics are mourning the loss of Hall of Fame player, coach and broadcaster Tommy Heinsohn. The team confirmed Heinsohn has died at the age of 86. The six-time All-Star won 10 NBA titles over 20 seasons with the Celtics as a player and coach. Heinsohn is one of just four players to be inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame as both a player and coach.
