The case against Anthony Manning, who is charged with complicity to murder in connection with the shooting death of Calvin “Cue” Taylor, is now heading to a Christian County Grand Jury.
The preliminary hearing set for Monday was waived by Manning and his public defender Shannon Powers, with Judge Foster Cotthoff telling Manning that it now heads to the grand jury for consideration of possible indictment.
Manning was recently extradited back to Christian County from Texas, where he was apprehended. He is also charged with complicity to robbery and Judge Cotthoff left his bond at $500,000.
Manning allegedly drove his mother, 47-year old Larayna Manning, to the home on the morning of the shooting. Detective Eugene Trumble testified recently during Larayna Manning’s hearing that Anthony said he didn’t enter the home until he heard gunshots to check on his mother and that he told his mother to not call police.
Detective Trumble says investigators can’t say with 100 percent certainty who fired the shots that killed Taylor and additional arrests are possible.
