No local outcomes changed after 38 additional absentees tallied

Only 38 additional absentee ballots that had been postmarked on Election Day or before were received by the Christian County Clerk’s Office since Tuesday and they did not change the outcome of the narrow Hopkinsville City Council or Christian County School Board races.

As has always been the case, reported totals on election night were not final as registered voters who requested an absentee ballot had until Tuesday to put them in the mail, as long as they arrived at the Clerk’s Office by Friday.

Ward 1 Hopkinsville City Councilman Darvin Adams gained four votes in his race against Republican Natasha Francis, but it was not nearly enough as he lost by a 140 vote margin.

Republican Steve Keel padded his lead by one vote in the Ward 10 race and defeated Democrat Jimmy Dossett by 226 votes.

Only five more votes were received in the District 1 Christian County School Board election and incumbent Jeff Moore got two of them as he defeated John Bruce by 36 votes.

All of the winners that were announced Tuesday night remain the same and complete results for Christian County can be found here.
