The Calloway County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a head-on collision that sent two people to local hospitals for treatment Thursday night.
According to a news release, a vehicle driven by 35-year old Kimberly Patterson of Dexter had been heading eastbound in the westbound lanes near the intersection of Purdom Road on Highway 80 around 10 p.m. Thursday. A vehicle operated by 20-year old Nicholas Trout was westbound on Highway 80 and when the two vehicles met, they collided head-on.
Patterson was trapped in her vehicle and had to be extricated. She was transported to Murray-Calloway County Hospital for treatment of serious injuries—Trout was also transported for treatment of minor injuries.
