Dodgers, Astros win Wednesday, White Sox to speak with LaRussa

The Los Angeles Dodgers scored a postseason record 11 runs in the first inning as they crushed the Atlanta Braves 15-3 in Game Three of the NLCS in Arlington. Max Muncy hit a grand slam in the first inning for Los Angeles. Joc Pederson and Edwin Rios also homered in the opening frame for the Dodgers. The Braves still lead the series 2-1 with Game Four tonight.

George Springer hit a two-run, go-ahead home run as the Houston Astros held off the Tampa Bay Rays 4-3 in Game Four of the ALCS in San Diego. Jose Altuve also went yard for the Astros. Randy Arozarena went yard for the Rays. Tampa Bay came up short in a ninth-inning rally attempt but still lead the series 3-1. Game Five is today.

The Chicago White Sox are being granted permission to speak to legendary skipper Tony La Russa about their managerial vacancy. According to ESPN, the Los Angeles Angels, who La Russa works for as a senior adviser, have given Chicago clearance to speak to the 76-year-old.

La Russa hasn’t managed since retiring following the Cardinals’ World Series title in 2011. He began his career with the White Sox in 1979 and was at the helm until 1986.
