The New Orleans Saints are having discussions with Louisiana State University about playing games in Baton Rouge. Talks began on Tuesday. The Saints want to play in front of a partial crowd at the Superdome, but New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell is not allowing it due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge was filled to 25-percent capacity for last month’s game against Mississippi State. The NFL is supportive of the Saints’ decision. A total of 15 NFL teams have hosted at least some fans in their stadiums so far this season.
The New York Jets are parting ways with running back Le’Veon Bell. The team released him on Tuesday just a year after signing him to a four-year, 52-million-dollar contract. In 17 games with the Jets, Bell averaged just 3.3 yards per carry and failed to clear one-thousand yards. The Jets are 0-and-5 this season.
Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said Tuesday that quarterback Dak Prescott should return by April or early May. The quarterback needed ankle surgery Sunday after being injured in the win over the New York Giants. Jones said the doctors are positive of his chances of getting back to normal.
