Christian County fell behind Greenwood for the second straight year, made a late rally and came up short in a 25-24 decision in Bowling Green. Donta Abren threw three touchdown passes, two in the fourth quarter to JoJo Alexander but the Colonels 16-3 rally in the last six minutes came up short.
Abren was 12-21 for 236 yards and three scores passing while Alexander caught five passes for 125 yards and two touchdowns in defeat. The Colonels were outgained 371-273 in falling to 1-1 on the season and 0-1 in district play while Greenwood improved to 5-0 and 1-0 in district action. Christian County hosts Bowling Green next Friday night at 7 at the Stadium of Champions.
