The NFL has rescheduled New England’s game with Denver from Sunday to Monday. The Patriots worked remotely again today after reigning NFL Defensive Player of the year Stephon Gilmore joined the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday. New England also has a defensive tackle from the practice squad on the list in the league’s other mini-outbreak.
New York Jets players and coaches have been sent home from their training facility after a presumptive positive coronavirus test, a person with direct knowledge of the test tells The Associated Press. The player was retested and the results should be known later today.
College Football
Kansas head coach Les Miles has tested positive for the coronavirus and is quarantining in his home. The university didn’t reveal if other staff members or any players tested positive at this time, though the team has had prior positive tests since the season began. The 0-3 Jayhawks are off this week before visiting West Virginia on October 17.
College Basketball
Multiple reports indicate Wichita State is investigating head coach Gregg Marshall’s conduct. The Athletic reported multiple allegations against Marshall from the 2015-16 season, including Marshall pushing and later punching former player Shaquille Morris, Marshall putting one of his hands around a staff member’s neck and Marshall following and trying to punch a student-athlete in another sport who parked in his parking spot. Marshall has been the head coach at Wichita State since 2007.
