CCHD reports 14 hospitalized locally with COVID-19

The Christian County Health Department is reporting 20 new COVID-19 cases locally and that there are currently 14 positive patients hospitalized.

According to a news release, Christian County has 1,493 cases of COVID-19 and of those cases, 211 are active, 1,256 have recovered, and the county has had 26 COVID-19 related deaths. Jennie Stuart Health reports they currently have 14 COVID-19 positive patients, and zero pending results.

Between the health department and Jennie Stuart, approximately 19,914 COVID-19 tests have been administered locally, not continuing other healthcare practices. The current positivity rate, only for tests conducted at Tie Breaker Park, for the month of October is 10.72 percent.

The current incident rate for Christian County is 27, putting the county back into the ‘critical’ category.

Officials urge people to get back into the habit of wearing those face masks and washing hands thoroughly and frequently, as those are the best ways to avoid contracting the virus.
