Monday is deadline to register to vote in upcoming election

Today is the deadline to register to vote in the November general election and Friday is the deadline to request an absentee ballot.

Christian County Elections Coordinator Melinda Humphries says log on to govoteky.com or visit your local county clerk’s office today if you are not already registered to vote.

Voters of all parties and independents can vote in a general election.

You can go to that same website and request a mail-in absentee ballot, but you have to do it by the end of Friday.

Early voting begins Tuesday of next week and Christian County residents will be able to vote without any excuse needed at the clerk’s office or the sheriff’s office. There will be seven polling places open for in-person voting on Election Day—November 3.

Todd County’s early voting also begins October 13 at the courthouse and both counties will offer Saturday voting hours each weekend until the election.
