Christian Co. Sheriff to talk with public in community forums

Christian County Sheriff Tyler DeArmond will be sitting down with members of the public in forums starting in November.

The forums, known as “Sit Down With the Sheriff”, will be held on a quarterly basis, beginning on November 5 at 5 p.m. and lasting until 7 p.m. Residents will be able to ask questions, talk about their concerns, and just overall have conversations about law enforcement in Christian County.

The effort is all about more transparency, according to Sheriff DeArmond, who says, “Transparency is important to me and to the people that trusted me by electing me as their Sheriff. I intend to make these meetings a regular part of my administration so that I may listen, learn, and help address any issues they may have.”

The meetings will take place in the training room at the sheriff’s office on West Seventh Street and due to COVID-19 restrictions, they will be limited to 35 participants. The Sheriff’s Office is asking those that plan to attend to please RSVP by calling 270-887-4141.
