Earlington woman charged with DUI, driving with child in vehicle

An Earlington woman is facing multiple charges after allegedly driving with a small child in a vehicle while under the influence.

According to a news release from Kentucky State Police, a trooper was patrolling in the area of the Earlington community when he observed a passenger not wearing a seatbelt in a vehicle.  A traffic stop was initiated and contact was made with 55-year old Vickie Moore of Earlington, who appeared to be under the influence.

A K9 unit alerted onto the vehicle and a search was conducted, allegedly revealing methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.  Some of the items were reportedly in close proximity to a 17-month old passenger, who was a backseat passenger.

Moore was arrested and charged with second-offense DUI, possession of meth, controlled substance endangerment to child, possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and multiple traffic violations.
