Austin Gomber fired six scoreless innings as the St. Louis Cardinals blanked the Kansas City Royals 5-0. Gomber allowed only four hits as the Redbirds win for the fifth time in six games. The series concludes tonight in Kansas City.
Jacob Stallings hit a walk-off solo home run as the Pittsburgh Pirates beat the Chicago Cubs 3-2 at PNC Park. The Cubs clinched a playoff spot despite losing. The club has now reached the playoffs in five of the past six seasons. The Cubs and Pirates face off again this evening.
Marcell Ozuna drove in five runs on two home runs and a double as the Atlanta Braves routed the Miami Marlins 11-1 at Truist Park. Ozzie Albies, Dansby Swanson and Freddie Freeman also went yard. The series continues tonight.
