Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant is the NBA Rookie of the Year. The second overall pick from Murray State was a near unanimous choice with 99 first-place votes from the 100-panel media. Morant averaged 17.6 points and 6.9 assists. He joins Pau Gasol in 2001-02 as the only Grizzlies player to win the award.
