Walk to End Alzheimer’s going ahead very differently in pandemic

The Pennyrile Walk to End Alzheimer’s is later this month, but it will look much different than the festivities folks are used to each year at the Christian County Justice Center.

Cindy Hancock with the Alzheimer’s Association appeared on WHOP Thursday and says the walk will still be Saturday, September 26, but they’re encouraging participants to walk in their own neighborhoods and then post photos and videos on social media.

There’s still time to register a team or individual—or to just financially support the local event.

She says Alzheimer’s patients and their families can still receive support through the association and more information is available on the Pennyrile Walk to End Alzheimer’s Facebook page.

There’s also a 24/7 help line you can call at 1-800-272-3900.
