Rotary to sell Boston butts during auction week

The diner won’t be open at the 70th Annual WHOP Rotary Radio Auction next month due to restrictions in the pandemic, but organizers have announced they will be grilling and selling Boston butts.

Scott Cowan is this year’s auction chair and he says the grill crew will be selling Boston butts at $40 each outside the War Memorial Building on all six days of the auction—September 14-19.

There will be no crowds at this year’s auction and no lunch or dinner due to the COVID restrictions.

Cowan says the first four nights of the auction will only be two hours instead of the traditional three.

The best way to help the auction be successful is donate at least $174 to the Hour Club.

The auction raises money for the Rotary Scholars and student loan programs to help local students go to college.
