The Hopkinsville-Christian County Imagination Library has a new coordinator and she’s gearing up for fundraising efforts and ready to help the children of the community.
Megan Marsh appeared on the WHOP Early Bird Show Monday and says she has plenty of experiences with kids—having been a stay at home mom with her own children before taking up the coordinator mantle—and her own children benefited from the program. She says they are currently working on increasing fundraising, which funds the majority of the program that serves children 0 to five years of age in Christian County.
She says this chapter of the Imagination Library currently has approximately 3,500 enrolled—and the goal of the program is to further child literacy and get them ready for kindergarten. Marsh says they are looking for sponsors now, to keep that program going, as the COVID-19 pandemic impacted them, just like it did everyone else.
Marsh says she’s eager to take the program forward and continue to aid children in their literacy efforts—for more information about the program and how to sign-up or donate, call the library 270-887-4262.
