Gov. Beshear expected to talk about new school year during Monday update

Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear is expected to talk about the upcoming school year as it relates to the ongoing pandemic during his Monday afternoon update.

The governor reported 425 new cases Sunday and while the week concluded with 330 fewer cases than the previous week, he says the positivity rate remains high.

One more Kentuckian died from the virus—a 71-year old man from Pulaski County—bringing the total to 773 since the pandemic began.

Nine more children age five and younger have tested positive.

The governor says more complete data for the week will be available Monday and he’ll give an update on where we are as a state and on schools at 3 p.m. local time.

Tennessee gained 2,127 new cases and eight more deaths. Montgomery County gained 37 new cases, Robertson County added 23 and Stewart County remained steady.
