Poll shows Trump, McConnell with large early leads in Kentucky

A statewide poll shows Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell with a large lead over Democrat Amy McGrath about three months from the general election.

The Morning Consult poll has Senator McConnell with a 53-to-36 percent lead over McGrath, with the remaining voters polled either undecided or planning to vote for someone else.

McConnell’s 17-point lead in the poll is still far less than the 24-percent advantage President Trump enjoys over Joe Biden in the same survey.

The president has the support of 59-percent polled, Biden received 36 percent and the rest are undecided or will vote for a third-party candidate.
