Cardinals-Brewers game postponed due to positive COVID tests for Cardinals

The St. Louis Cardinals opening game of a weekend series at Milwaukee this afternoon has been postponed as sources report positive COVID-19 among the Cardinals team. The Athletic reports the two positive tests were pitchers and did not identify them out of respect to privacy. It’s also being reported the postponed game will be played as part of a doubleheader Sunday. The Cardinals last played Wednesday in Minneapolis against the Minnesota Twins.

ESPN reports the Miami Marlins are getting sleeper busses for those infected by COVID to transport them back to Miami. The rest of the team will travel to Baltimore, New York and Buffalo to continue the season next week. The Marlins have been in Philadelphia all week following 17 positive tests among the team and staff.
