The 2020 Trail of Tears Pow Wow will no longer take place due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, with it slated to make a return in 2021.
According to a post to social media, the decision to postpone the Pow Wow to next year was not made lightly, but made with the community’s safety and health in mind. It states that this seemed to correct choice to keep everyone’s friends and families safe in the midst of a worldwide pandemic.
The Pow Wow will be back September 11 and 12 of 2021, to celebrate the heritage, history and culture of Native American people.
