MLB Recaps/Scores

The Atlanta Braves were the victim of a snowman inning in the fourth as they lost 14-5 against the Tampa Bay Rays. Matt Adams and Dansby Swanson both homered. Mike Foltynewicz gave up six runs on four hits and four walks while striking out three and giving up three long balls to take the loss. Foltynewicz was designated for assignment following the game. The teams meet again tonight in Tampa.

The St. Louis Cardinals visit the Minnesota Twins tonight. Carlos Martínez gets the start against Minnesota’s Homer Bailey. St. Louis had a day off yesterday after taking two out of three against the Pirates to start the season.

A pair of MLB games were wiped out last night because of the coronavirus. The Miami Marlins didn’t play the Baltimore Orioles in South Florida. Tonight’s Orioles-Marlins game in Miami is also postponed. The second postponement involves the New York Yankees and Philadelphia Phillies. If the Phillies’ coronavirus test results come back clean, they expect to host the Yankees tonight at Citizens Bank Park.
