Reds fall Sunday to Tigers, lose 2 of 3 in series

The Cincinnati Reds comeback came just short in a 3-2 loss to the Detroit Tigers. Red pitcher Trevor Bauer went six-plus innings and struck out 13, but with the game tied 1-1 in the top of the ninth, Detroit’s’ C.J. Cron hit a two-run homer to give the Tigers the lead. In the bottom of the ninth, the Reds rallied when Freddy Glavis doubled and then scored on a double from Aristides Aquino, but Detroit got the last three outs to seal the victory. Cincinnati will now welcome the Chicago Cubs to Great American Ball Park for a three-game set beginning tonight with pregame at 5:10 on News Radio 95.3 FM/1230 AM WHOP.
