The Storm Prediction Center has placed western Kentucky under a slight risk for severe weather this afternoon and evening.
Severe storms will be most likely in the late afternoon to early evening hours, with damaging winds and heavy rain that could produce brief flash-flooding the primary threats.
Heat and humidity remain the main concerns outside of any storms, with heat index values topping out at 100 or greater through Friday.
