Clarksville police presented an officer with its Life Saver Award.
Officer Randy Cox was the recipient of the department’s Life Saver Award for his actions on June 10, when he was dispatched to an incident that involved an unconscious and unresponsive three-year-old child.
Officer Cox quickly arrived at the residence and immediately began to perform CPR. After several minutes, he was able to regain the child’s pulse. EMS arrived on the scene and continued the life-saving process.
A news release says Officer Cox previously worked in the medical field before joining the Clarksville Police Department. He used that training June 10 and set into motion the steps for the child to make a full recovery.
