The NCAA sent out its latest guidelines to play football and other sports this fall Thursday, but with a harsh warning the outlook to play appears bleak. NCAA president Mark Emmert said in a statement COVID-19 rates must be manageable, but the data point in the wrong direction.
He said in order to have college sports this fall, Americans need to get a much better handle on the pandemic. If games are played, the NCAA wants athletes tested for COVID-19 no more than 72 hours before playing, high-risk exposed players would be quarantined for 14 days and everybody on the sideline wears a mask.
