University of Tennessee defensive lineman Emmit Gooden has been dismissed from the football team, a team spokesman confirmed to the Knoxville News Sentinel. Gooden was arrested last night on felony aggravated domestic assault charges. He is accused of hitting his girlfriend in the head with a glass jar candle during an argument, according to an online arrest warrant. She was treated at the UT Medical Center with sutures on her left eyebrow and the corner of her left eye. The senior-redshirt was projected to start this season.
