A disturbance in Guthrie Saturday night led to the arrest of a man on numerous charges.
Guthrie Police Chief Dean Blumel notified the Todd County Sheriff’s Office that 30-year old Billy Reynolds, Jr. of Guthrie was causing a problem at his parents’ home and had fled the scene. Deputy Mitch Frazier knew Reynolds to be sought on a felony warrant out of Elkton and located his vehicle in the area of Davis Mill Road and Bells Chapel Road.
Deputies were able to get the vehicle to stop on Davis Mill Road.
A female passenger said Reynolds had packed her to the vehicle and forced her to ride with him from Guthrie and that he ordered her to get in the driver’s seat and act like she had been operating the vehicle, according to the arrest citation.
The Elkton warrant was for a June 24 incident where an officer attempted to make a traffic stop for Reynolds crossing the center line and for driving at night without any lights. He eventually drove into a bean field and ran away, eluding Elkton police and the Todd County Sheriff’s Department.
Reynolds is charged with fleeing or evading police, tampering with evidence, unlawful imprisonment, first degree wanton endangerment, reckless driving, driving on a DUI suspended license and several other offenses.
