Arizona Diamondbacks right-hander Mike Leake has become the first MLB player to opt out of playing if the season is able to get underway next month. Leake was expected to be able to pitch after dealing with a fracture on his left wrist during spring training before the league shut down because of the coronavirus pandemic. He went 3-3 with a 4.35 ERA in 10 starts with Arizona last season after being acquired from the Seattle Mariners at the trade deadline.
