The two men killed in a single-vehicle accident Thursday night on West Seventh Street in Hopkinsville have been identified.
Christian County Coroner Scott Daniel identifies the victims as 30-year old Ethan Pace of Hopkinsville and 33-year old Benjamin Papajeski of Cadiz.
A collision report from Hopkinsville police says their pickup was westbound at a high rate of speed near Westwood Senior Homes just after 11 p.m. when it went off the right side of the road, then crossed the eastbound lane and struck a culvert. The vehicle then overturned at least once before striking a utility pole.
All three occupants were ejected and Pace and Papajeski were pronounced dead at the scene.
The other occupant, 31-year old Stephen Donovan of Cadiz, was flown by Air Evac to Skyline Medical Center in Nashville, where he was listed in stable condition.
Daniel says it’s unknown who was driving.
None of the men were wearing seat belts and alcohol and excessive speed are cited as factors in the police report.
