Ryan Blaney is giving a new definition to photo finish. Blaney edged Ricky Stenhouse Junior by a nose to win the GEICO 500 at Talladega. A wreck ensued as the driver’s crossed the finish line, with Aric Almirola crossing the line with his car going backwards. Denny Hamlin finished fourth while Erik Jones took fifth. On a day where NASCAR drivers pushed Bubba Wallace to the front of the grid to begin the race, the African American driver was in contention for the win and reached as high as first before fuel issues caused him to pit late. Wallace finished 14th. After the race, Wallace greeted black fans in attendance as the crowd cheered on.
