Challenge House is bringing back the AT&T summer work program and interested students can still apply to participate.
According to a news release, the deadline for applications to be turned in for the first session—which begins Monday—has passed, but applications for the second session that will take place in July can still be turned in. Applications can be turned in to Challenge House #7 on Phelps Avenue before July 7. The program not only provides students the chance to earn $200, it also gives them a chance to job shadow, hear from local leaders and entrepreneurs and learn important job skills.
A total of 20 students were chosen from the Challenge House 3, 4 and 5 neighborhoods for the first session, and then 20 from neighborhoods 1, 2 and 7 for session two will be selected.
There are strict requirements for attendance, including being on time for classes and no electronic devices. Topics covered in the classes include resume making, interview preparation, career interest discussions and more.
Students who successfully graduate from the program that last three to four days, earns $200. For more information about the program and how to sign up, call 270-886-8887.
