CCHD gives update on COVID-19 locally

The Christian County Health Department is reporting two additional confirmed cases of COVID-19, along with two more people recovered.

According to Tuesday’s new release, the overall total of cases in Christian County is at 160—34 of those cases are considered ‘active’ and 123 individuals have recovered from the virus. Breaking down the data into categories of age, there have be 12 cases in the pediatric age group 108 cases among the young adult to middle aged adults, 37 in the older adult category and 3 in the elderly age group.

Between Jennie Stuart Health and the health department, 4,501 people have been tested locally. Thanks to state funding, CCHD has hired three contact tracers and these individuals trace and monitor those who have been in direct contact with a patient who has tested positive for COVID-19 and notifies them of exposure.

In the last 14 days, the county is averaging a little over two cases per day. Any time two or more cases are diagnosed within a facility or workplace, these cases are referred to as “clusters”. For more information, follow the Christian County Health Department on Facebook.
