A snake was the cause of a power outage that affected approximately 2,000 Pennyrile Electric customers Tuesday night.
According to the cooperative, the power outage began at around 9 p.m. for customers in Christian and Trigg County, and crews responded to the Pee Dee Substation to discover a snake amongst the equipment.
Crews worked the repair and replace a damage insulator and the lights came back on for most members about 11 p.m.
