Austin Peay women’s hoops lands first Puerto Rican

Austin Peay’s women’s program announced Monday the signing of the first Puerto Rican player in its history. Nina De Leon is a guard from San Juan and spent her prep days playing at the prestigious Montverde Academy in Montverde, Florida While playing for the Puerto Rican national team, De Leon averaged 15 points, four rebounds, and five assists in the Centrobasket U17 Women’s Championship. De Leon is the fourth high school signee in the 2020 recruiting class.
