A Crofton man is facing his fourth DUI following a collision on South Fowler Avenue near Grays Court.
According to the Hopkinsville police report, officers responded to the location on South Fowler for reports that a vehicle had struck a stone retaining wall and also a fence before leaving the scene. Contact was made with 41-year old Jason Chilton of Crofton, who was behind the wheel of the vehicle that was reportedly involved in the collision.
There were allegedly three open alcohol containers in the vehicle and a search of the vehicle revealed a plastic bag that contained a pill that Chilton allegedly said was oxycontin. He reportedly admitted to taking oxycontin and drinking before getting behind the wheel.
Investigation determined that Chilton was also involved in a wreck on North Kentucky Avenue. He was arrested and charged with fourth-offense DUI, which is a felony, possession of an open alcohol container in a motor vehicle, possession of a controlled substance, failure to report a traffic accident and carrying a concealed deadly weapon.
