Gov. orders flags to half-staff in honor of Memorial Day

Governor Andy Beshear is ordering for flags to be at half-staff Monday morning in honor of Memorial Day.

According to a news release, flags on Memorial Day “should be displayed at half-staff until noon only, then raised to the top of the staff.” Flags at state office buildings are currently flying at half-staff in honor of Kentucky’s victims of the novel coronavirus disease and will remain so until noon on Monday, after which they will fly at full-staff.

Memorial Day is a holiday in the United States for honoring and mourning those members of our nation’s armed forces who died while in service.
