Students turn out red carpet ready to Drive-Up Prom Entrances event

Although high schoolers in Christian County missed out on traditional proms, they still had a chance to strut their stuff on the red carpet Saturday at the James E. Bruce Convention Center.

The Drive-UP Prom Entrances event saw dresses, tuxedos and decorated vehicles in abundance as students got a chance to get their picture taken, and they will receive a free copy of those photos. Coordinator Chris Jung says they had a good turnout, and it was all to help give these young adults something to hold onto.

He says the majority of participants came dressed in true formal wear and with smiles on their faces.

The free event is made possible thanks to a partnership between the Bruce Convention Center, Kustom Designs Photography, Chick-fil-A and the WHOP Family of Stations. The participant with the best decorated vehicle also won free Chick-fil-A for a year.

The event was hosted in a drive-through style way, with participants pulling up and getting their picture taken while maintaining social distancing guidelines.
