Kentucky got its third in-state commitment from Derkel Crowdus, from Frederick Douglass High School in Lexington. Crowdus is considered one of the best 50 receivers in the nation according to Kentucky Sports Radio. He chose Kentucky over nine finalists that included Louisville, Ohio State, Michigan and SEC schools Ole Miss and South Carolina. UK now has eight commitments in the 2021 class.
Kentucky redshirt freshman quarterback Amani Gilmore is leaving as he has entered the NCAA transfer portal. He appeared in one game last year. The Wildcats have added Auburn transfer Joey Gatewood and four-star Lexington Catholic recruit Beau Allen to the quarterback fold. Also, starter Terry Wilson is expected to be recovered after knee surgery ended his 2019 season after two games.
