The University of Kentucky announced its CATSPY awards winners during the week. The Male Rookie of the Year Award was presented to Lyon County native Cullan Brown:
Brown missed the 2019-20 season after being diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a form of bone cancer, in his left thigh. Brown was to begin his sophomore season at UK after a stellar freshman campaign which saw him named to the All-SEC Freshman Team. He also played in the PGA Tour’s Barbasol Championship in Nicholasville in 2018.
