Several injured in Madisonville accident

Several people were injured in a three-vehicle crash Wednesday evening in Madisonville.

It happened a few minutes after 6 p.m. at Island Ford Road and Interstate 69, according to a news release from Madisonville police, which says 27-year old Justin Cardwell of Nortonville was traveling on the off ramp from I-69 when he had a mechanical failure that prevented him from being able to stop.

His car continued into the intersection with Island Ford Road and collided with a vehicle operated by 33-year old Jacob Beshears of Somerset. Cardwell kept moving and struck another automobile driven by 62-year old Melody Tribble of Providence.

Cardwell and his passengers—25-year old Tracy Clark of Nortonville and two juveniles—and Beshears’ passenger—51-year old Thomas Scariot of Somerset—were all taken by EMS to Baptist Health Hospital in Madisonville for treatment of injuries.
